Did you know joy is an emotion that runs deeper than happiness and aligns with your well-being? Joy lives within us, but the challenges of daily living can overshadow this powerful emotion.


Finding Your Joy

- Close your eyes, take a deep breath for 4 counts and slowly breathe out for 6 counts

- Now, think of something that brings you joy, makes you smile, brings you peace

Examples include but are not limited to family, a funny story, nature, your pet, your favorite food, a hobby, a good memory, a scent, your smile...you get the idea.

- Take another deep breath for 4 counts, breathing in the joy, then slowly breathe out for 6 counts as you open your eyes

- Notice how your body feels

- In that moment, you've engaged your parasympathetic nervous system, a key to regulating your nervous system. Health benefits may include lowering blood pressure, aiding in digestion, reducing pain, etc. See how your body responds.
